This project led us to design and develop a range of characters and assets that would allow content creators to engage with and reward their top fans.
Our solution offered three distinct, scalable styles—sophisticated, cute, and whimsical—to help personalize fan engagement across platforms.
Our first approach blended realistic textures and lighting with simple characters in a playful environment.
Some creators produce content that is not ideally matched with a playful style. Our second iteration shelved the characters in favor of shapes and symbols.
We eventually blended both approaches with characters that are more sophisticated but retained subtle elements of playfulness.
Their shapes and sizes are varied for different contexts. Simplified facial structures (such as removal of their mouths) allows for understated expressions that could be paired with a greater variety of content.
For every element and character, we sketched multiple versions until the personality and design of each struck the right tone.
From rough sketches and cel animations to final coloring and 3D renders, this project is the culmination of monumental effort by a team of radically skilled designers and animators.
